BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (Information Technology)

The B.Sc. IT programme of the University of Mumbai is designed to provide basic inputs for a board understanding of information Technology and its interfaces. The focus is on Information Technology and IT Management. Today smart, successful businesses use IT to give them an extra-edge to stay ahead of the competition. IT is soon becoming a 'driver1 rather than an 'enabler' of business. It is used for processes like Office Automation, Management information. The programme takes the student beyond computer skills to telecommunication system and networking to e-commerce, internet security and Enterprise Resource Planning. Basic Qualification: In order to secure admission to first year of three-year BSc(IT) course, the candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
A candidate for being eligible for admission to the degree course of Bachelor of Science - Information Technology, shall have passed XII standard examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or it's equivalent with Mathematic and Statistics as one of the subject and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate for open category and 40% marks in aggregate in case of Reserved category candidates.
OR
Every candidate admitted to the Degree Course in the Constituent / affiliated college / recognized institution conducting the course shall have to register himself / herself with the University.
 
Duration of Course

Six (6) Semesters spread over (3) years The course will be consist of 29 theory papers and 1 Project work.
